Coaching -
  • Rewarding role in the Community
  • Share a passion as a Parent/Guardian
"A journey of a thousand miles, starts with one step"

"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra" - You could be that "little extra" for a child

1.

Register your interest in Volunteering with Kilshanvey United.
First Step is to notify the club that you are interested in getting involved. The Club will help you with the process and a find a role that suits your skills. We understand the hassle these steps can cause, but protecting our members is NUMBER 1 to Kilshanvey United! #

Go to FAI.net and create a profile for yourself. Then register that profile to Kilshanvey United at this link below.

2.

Garda Vetting
Everything starts with and is subject to the completion of the Garda Vetting. The purpose of this is for the Garda to carry out a background check on you as a new coach to ensure the continued protection of our members. You can appreciate how important this is to us and Kilshanvey United appreciates your cooperation in completing this step.

Please go to this link
Create an FAI log in and complete your registration.
Go to Courses section and search for "Garda Vetting".
  • You will need two pieces of ID, a licence and Passport or equivalent.
  • ID Validation document signed by a senior member of Kilshanvey United, or An Garda Siochana.
  • Proof of address, utility bill etc.
Keep an eye on your email and respond to the mails as requested. You will be asked to fill details of all previous addresses. This allows the Garda to check other areas during their review. The better the information, the faster the approval.
A reference letter from a previous club can also be given the Kilshanvey, but the Garda Vetting must be completed for Kilshanvey united. This is normal.

3.

Child Safe Guarding
All Kilshanvey Coaches must complete Child Safe Guarding 1 at a minimum. If you have completed this course for another Sport Ireland affiliated group, then this can be accepted by Kilshanvey United.
Otherwise, if you have completed your Garda Vetting, search "Child Safe Guarding" under "Courses" in your FAI Profile, or contact Kilshanvey Child Welfare for support.

4.

Learn how to Coach
Kilshanvey United follow the FAI Development plan. These courses can all be booked through the FAI profile, but please note Kilshanvey United will reimburse all costs. Please notify the committee of your intention to do the course and payment will be made once the cert is provided to the Club Secretary

5.

Partner Up!
All New Coaches will be partnered with a more experienced coach. This Mentor will help advice on training and match preparation. Kilshanvey United also has a Head coach who is there to advise and help you grow in your coaching role. For more contact Head Coach

Renewing you clearances
Safe Guarding and Vetting must be refreshed every three years.
